Your File Never Leaves Your Device
Most money apps ask for your bank login and keep your transactions on their servers. This one does neither. Here is exactly what happens to your data, in plain English.
What we never receive
- Your bank username or password
- Your account number or routing number
- Your card number
- Your account balances
- A copy of your CSV file
- Your transaction list
Not “we delete it promptly” — we never get it in the first place.
The one thing that can leave
The paid report includes an optional AI answers feature. It is switched off unless you turn it on. While it is off, nothing leaves your device at any point.
If you switch it on, each question sends a short summary — your totals, category percentages, and merchant names — so the assistant can answer accurately. It never sends your transaction list, your balances, or your file. Questions are not used to train any AI model, and we do not keep them.
Leave it off and you still get full answers — the report has a built-in answer engine that runs entirely on your device.
How It Works
Why there is nothing to leak
Your file is read where it already is
When you choose a CSV, your browser reads it directly from your own computer. It is not uploaded. There is no “send” step, because there is nowhere for it to go.
Your report is built on your device
The categories, totals, budget, trends, and money leaks are all calculated by code running in your browser. The PDF is generated there too.
There is no account and no database
We do not ask you to sign up, and we have no database of customer transactions. There is no stored copy of your data for anyone to breach or subpoena.
We never touch your bank
The app has no connection to any bank. It cannot see your balance, cannot move money, and cannot act on your account — because it has no access to it.
Where your report is stored
Your report is saved in your own browser's storage, on the device you used. That is what lets it still be there when you come back from payment. It is not sent to us, and it is not visible to other websites.
We keep as little as possible. Columns the report does not need — things like account numbers, balances, or check numbers — are never written to storage at all. Only the date, description, amount, and category of each transaction are kept, for up to 3 years of history.
Some banks bury a reference or account number inside the transaction description itself. Before anything is saved, we mask anything shaped like a card number, account or reference number, Social Security number, email address, or phone number — so ACCT 000123456789 is stored as ACCT ••••6789. Ordinary store numbers are left alone, so your transactions stay recognisable.
To be straight with you: this catches anything with a recognisable shape, but no tool can spot a person's name written into a payment memo. That is why the real protection is that your file is never uploaded in the first place — the masking is an extra layer on top.
Delete it whenever you like
On a shared or work computer? Remove everything in one click. Download your PDF first — once deleted, the report cannot be recovered without uploading again.
If you want to be extra careful
None of this is required — the app already ignores anything it does not need — but if you would feel better, here is what you can do:
- Open the CSV in a spreadsheet and delete any account number column before uploading. The app only needs date, description, and amount.
- Export a shorter date range. Three to twelve months is plenty, and reports cover up to 3 years.
- Use your own device rather than a shared or public computer.
- Download your PDF, then use the delete button above when you are finished.
Payments
Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's own secure checkout page — we never see or store them. Your statement will show HAMPTON NETWORK. Your money report is never sent to Stripe, and your card details are never shared with us.
